Yesterday, July 7, the coordinator of the organization visited Lviv and visited the scene of the tragedy. She was accompanied by Lviv First Deputy Mayor Andriy Moskalenko.
“We went to the place of the attack. I showed the destruction caused by the rockets fired by the Russians at Lviv. I think this explains without any extra words how to react to the murders committed by the Russians.
This example of murder in a historical area should become the main topic at all UNESCO conferences. We respect the organization, so we expect a reaction that deserves respect, not a position that still needs to be explained and learned to read between the lines.
“UNESCO has promised to dedicate a major conference in France to this case and to clearly state those who committed the murders,” Andriy Moskalenko said.
Earlier, the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, criticized UNESCO for its reaction to rocket attacks on buildings located in the buffer zone of the World Heritage site “Lviv – Historical Center Ensemble”. It will be recalled that the organization condemned the shelling, but did not specify the terrorist country that killed 10 Lviv residents.
In addition, on the night of July 6, the Russians shelled Lviv. The rocket hit a complex of apartment buildings. 10 people died, 48 were injured. Residential buildings, educational institutions, university dormitories, office premises, cars, etc. were destroyed.
