In Lviv, you can experience art that cannot be seen – there will be an exhibition of architecture, painting and cinematography

In Lviv, on the street Lychakivska Street, 8, the Museum in the Dark “Tretya psir pivnonoch” has opened. The first exhibition that can be visited is called “Art by touch”. Exhibits of architecture, painting and cinematography are presented here.

The exhibition is presented in a completely dark room. The exhibits cannot be seen, but only felt by touch.

“Our visitors can experience what a tour is like in total darkness. We planned to open back in 2019, but first covid and then a full-scale invasion postponed our plans,” says manager Alina Marnenko.

Blind guides work in the museum. The goal of the project is to destroy stereotypes about the blind, increase their employment and access to art. After all, everyone can feel it.

The mayor of Lviv visited the new museum today.

“I want to thank you for this fantastic initiative. It is necessary that many Lviv residents come and feel this atmosphere when you are in the dark. Because many people live like this all their lives,” said Andriy Sadovy.

The exhibition program consists of 2 parts: the exhibition itself in the dark accompanied by a blind guide, where you can experience the exhibits by touch, as well as activity under the light, during which you can learn to write in Braille, play tactile games and much more.

The museum also offers children’s interactive “5 senses” (both outside and in the museum space).

This is the second museum of this format operating in Ukraine.

To visit the museum, you need to go to the website https://0300.com.ua/lviv-exhibition and book a paid excursion.
