The court found a 37-year-old man from Lviv guilty of premeditated murder (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by the prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv.
He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved that in September 2019, in Lviv, the accused killed a man in his apartment.
Previously, a conflict arose between the men, which turned into a fight. In the course of the last incident, the defendant struck the victim with a hammer about twenty blows to the head. After that, he fled from the apartment, locking it with the key.
The man’s body was discovered by ZHEK employees and law enforcement officers more than a week after his death.
The accused is in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiry of the appeal period.
