Following a public indictment by the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the court found a doctor of one of the municipal medical institutions of Lviv guilty of providing an unlawful benefit (Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved that in March 2022, the infectious disease doctor, being conscripted, tried to leave for the Republic of Poland, despite the prohibition established by the current legislation.
To do this, he tried to give an illegal benefit in the amount of 15,000 US dollars to two employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, for “resolving the issue” regarding his unhindered crossing of the state border. However, the officers of the special service informed the management about the illegal proposal in the prescribed manner.
The figure was detained by law enforcement officers while receiving the entire amount of the proposed funds.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, based on the materials and operational support of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiry of the appeal period.
