Road Accident in Lviv District: Circumstances and Consequences
As a result of a car collision in Lviv district, a car passenger was injured – police are establishing the circumstances of the event.
Details of the Traffic Accident
The traffic accident occurred on February 17, around 09:00, on the ‘Lviv-Ivano-Frankivsk-Mukachevo’ highway in the village of Sokolivka, Lviv district.
Preliminary law enforcement findings indicate a collision between a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 20-year-old resident of the Chernivtsi region and a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 63-year-old resident from one of the villages of the Lviv district.
As a result of the accident, the Volkswagen Golf’s passenger, a 65-year-old Lviv resident, sustained physical injuries and was hospitalized.
Legal Consequences
The investigators from Police Department No.2 of Lviv District Police Administration No.2 have opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment under this article is up to three years of restricted freedom, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement is determining the circumstances of the incident.
