Following a public prosecution by the Sambir Local Prosecutor’s Office, the 39-year-old woman was found guilty of premeditated murder (Article 115(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
She was sentenced to 10 years and 2 months in prison.
The prosecutor proved in court that in December 2022, in the city of Sambir, the defendant killed her partner.
That evening, the woman and her husband were drinking alcohol. During the meal, a conflict arose between the couple, which escalated into a fight. During which the accused grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim eight times in the neck and chest. The victim died on the spot from his injuries.
The defendants will remain in custody until the verdict enters into force.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Sambir District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
The court’s verdict comes into force after the expiry of the appeal period.
