Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 39-year-old resident of Zolochiv was exposed and served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect organized a scheme of illegal crossing of the state border by persons liable for military service to Hungary during martial law.
To do this, when he met with the man, he said that he would organize transportation to the checkpoint. After that, accompanied by another person, the “client” would cross the border of Ukraine.
The price of this service was 20,000 Euros.
The suspect was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine while receiving the declared funds.
The custody was chosen as a measure of restraint.
The investigative actions are ongoing. All persons involved in the crime are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region with the operational support of the Migration Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region and the SBU Military Counterintelligence Department.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
