The traffic accident occurred on September 22, around 1:00 p.m., on the Lviv-Krakowets highway near the village of Ivano-Frankove, Yavoriv district.
According to law enforcement officers, the driver of the VAZ 2103 car, a 71-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv region, ran over a 76-year-old local woman.
As a result of the accident, the woman received bodily injuries and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
Investigators of the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
