The traffic accident happened on October 18, around 10:10 a.m., on the “Peremyshlyany-Pluhiv” highway near the village of Polyany, Zolochiv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Kia Sorento driven by a 24-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district and a Daewoo Lanos driven by a 64-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Daewoo Lanos and his passenger, a 60-year-old resident of the area, were injured and taken to medical facilities.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Zolochiv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
