Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the pre-trial investigation was completed and the indictment against the 54-year-old man was sent to court. He is charged with organising the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine, forgery of official documents, as well as illegal handling of weapons (Part 3 of Article 332, Part 3 of Article 358, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that a resident of Lviv district assisted a person liable for military service in illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during martial law. For a monetary reward, he produced and subsequently sold a package of fake documents to the conscript.
These were official documents – a certificate of medical and social examination by a medical and social expert commission and a pension certificate. The latter contained deliberately false information about the relevant disability group.
He estimated his services at USD 500. The defendant set up a “workshop” for the production of counterfeits at his home.
As a result of the searches, a device for making seals, seals, printers, laptops, original forged documents, etc., as well as firearms were found and seized.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, the materials were collected by the Lviv Department of the Internal Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
