As a result of a special operation in the Lviv region, law enforcement agencies have detained members of a criminal group involved in arms and ammunition trade. The detainees include two local residents from Radekhiv and one resident of the Rivne region.
The criminals used social networks for advertising and selling weapons, later sending the goods through mail and receiving money into their bank accounts. The pre-trial investigation revealed that the group carried out more than ten operations selling weapons and ammunition. During the searches, a large amount of weapons was seized, including pistols, assault rifles, grenades, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Financial assets were also confiscated, including large sums of euros and dollars.
The case has been referred to court with several charges under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, with a maximum possible penalty of up to eight years of imprisonment.
