During the authorized search of the car of the attacker, law enforcement officers found and seized about 0.5 kilograms of “marijuana” and about 800 grams of “PVP”. The value of the seized at black market prices is more than half a million hryvnias.
The perpetrator was exposed by patrol policemen while on duty on Dalny Street in Lviv. Seeing the law enforcement officers, a passer-by threw a suspicious package over the fence.
Later, the investigative and operative group of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 2 worked at the scene of the incident. The police established the identity of the man – a 40-year-old from Kharkiv, and also searched for the package that he “dropped”. It contained 18 zip-top bags containing a prepackaged substance of green plant origin that looked like marijuana.
Later, during an authorized search of the Mercedes car used by the perpetrator, the law enforcement officers discovered and seized: zip bags, packages and rolls with a substance of plant origin, outwardly similar to “marijuana”, as well as rolls with a crystalline substance, outwardly similar to psychotropic drug “PVP”.
The substances were hidden under the hood, in the trunk and engine compartment, behind the headlight, in the interior and under the wings of the car.
The identified narcotic and psychotropic drugs were carefully packaged and signed – ready for distribution. The total weight of seized “marijuana” is about 0.5 kilograms, “PVP” – about 800 grams. The cost at the prices of the “black” market is more than half a million hryvnias.
In addition, the law enforcement officers found in the car draft records, electronic scales, means for packaging, money obtained from illegal activities, as well as other material evidence.
Everything removed is directed to expert research.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
It was also established that the perpetrator was involved in the commission of similar criminal offenses on the territory of the Rivne region.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
