This weekend, two citizens intended to cross the Western Bug River to get abroad.
One of the desperate men was detected by the border patrol of the Ambukiv department near the Ukrainian-Polish border on Sunday morning.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
The unknown man, seeing the border guards, began to run away and swam to the neighboring shore. The border guards informed their colleagues on the other side of the state border, where the unfortunate swimmer was detained by the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland.
As it turned out later, the detainee was a 31-year-old native of Sumy region. Having no legal grounds for traveling abroad during the martial law regime, the man decided to get there illegally. However, he did not stay in Poland for long, as Polish guards handed the offender over to the border guards of the Volyn detachment as part of the readmission process. Law enforcement officers drew up a report of administrative offense under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, and a representative of the CCC and JV handed the serviceman a summons.
A report on an administrative offense and a summons were also issued to a 26-year-old native of Donetsk Oblast, who had tried to illegally get to Poland in the same way the day before.
The decision in both cases will be made by the court. Measures are currently underway to identify the persons involved in the smuggling of citizens across the Ukrainian-Polish border.
We remind you that recently three residents of Volodymyrskyi district, who are involved in criminal proceedings, were served suspicion notices for organizing the smuggling of persons across the border and a pre-trial restraint was imposed.
☝️ Therefore, we urge citizens not to resort to illegal actions, because they will have to answer for their actions before the law, – the SBGSU emphasized.
