As the employees of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv Region together with the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 under the procedural guidance of the Galicia Regional Prosecutor’s Office established, a 27-year-old resident of the Lviv District contributed to the illegal transportation of conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine during wartime.
Being the head of one of the departments of the transport enterprise and having the appropriate authority, the perpetrator submitted applications for entering false information into one of the systems about men who were not employees of the enterprise, which gave them the right to leave the territory of the state.
In this way, he facilitated the illegal crossing of at least 50 conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine.
The investigators informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of criminal offenses provided for in part 1, 2 of article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
