As established by the employees of the crime investigation department of the investigative department of the Lviv Oblast police together with operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, the perpetrators produced forged medical documents for conscripted men, which gave them the right to unhindered crossing of the border of Ukraine .
The organized group consisted of three people, they estimated their “services” in the amount of 5 thousand US dollars.
Law enforcement officers documented several cases of illegal transportation of conscripted men across the state border of Ukraine and on July 14 detained the organizer of the group, a 54-year-old resident of the city of Stebnyk, while he was receiving part of the funds from another “client”.
Investigators informed the detainee and one of his accomplices, a 34-year-old resident of Drohobych, of suspicions of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictments against them have already been referred to the court.
On January 24, in one of the villages of the Stryi district, law enforcement officers, according to a court order, detained the third member of the group – a 47-year-old man from Lviv, who was hiding from the investigation.
The law enforcement officers also informed him of the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
