Prosecutors prevent misuse of budget funds worth over UAH 9 million
Prosecutors of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office ensured participation in the consideration of the case brought by the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office regarding a disputed contract. The agreement was supposed to result in the illegal allocation of over UAH 9 million from the budget.
It was found that the utility company and the construction company entered into a contractor agreement. According to the agreement, the company was to reconstruct the roof of a building with an outpatient clinic superstructure.
However, according to the monitoring of the State Audit Service, the contractor was unreasonably recognised as the winner of the tender, as the company had incorrectly calculated the contract price, overstating it. Also, the terms of the contract did not meet the requirements of the tender documentation regarding warranty periods and the schedule of works.
In this regard, the prosecutor’s office filed a claim to invalidate the contract. The parties to the contract, without waiting for the court’s decision, voluntarily terminated the contract.
Thus, as a result of the representative measures taken, the illegal use of budget funds was prevented.
