Over the past 24 hours, Lviv region’s emergency services extinguished 22 dry grass fires2. As a result of these fires, the fire destroyed over 6,500 square meters of dry grass.
In particular, 1 dry grass fire occurred in Chervonohrad district, 2 fires in Lviv city territorial community, Drohobych, Zolochiv and Sambir districts, 6 fires in Stryi district and the largest number of fires – 7 fires in Lviv district.
In such a difficult time, deliberately destroying Ukraine and its land by burning dry grass is a CRIME!
In addition, setting fire to dry grass is punishable by law in the form of a fine:
- for citizens from 3,060 UAH to 6,120 UAH
- for officials – UAH 15,300 to UAH 21,420
The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast appeals to all residents of our region to stop burning dry grass, and remember, if you see an arson, immediately report it to the fire service and the police, even if the arsonist is your neighbor or friend!
