Tragic Accident in Lviv Region: Driver Died on the Spot
The road traffic accident occurred on February 14 around 21:30 on the highway connecting ‘Lviv – Rava-Ruska’ near the village of Lavrykiv.
Circumstances of the Accident
As preliminary determined by law enforcement, the driver of the VAZ-2101, a 41-year-old resident of the Lviv district, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a ‘Renault’ truck driven by another resident of the Lviv region aged 55. As a result of the collision, the driver of the car sustained injuries from which he died at the scene.
Investigation
Based on the fact, investigators from the department for investigating transport-related crimes of the Lviv region police have opened a criminal proceeding under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
