Two boys under the age of 14 drank alcohol with an older minor friend
A court in Sokal ruled to fine the father of a minor boy who, together with two younger friends, was drinking cognac near the village council. As for the mothers of the two young boys, the court limited itself to a verbal warning.
This is stated in the rulings, which were published on Tuesday, August 6, in the Unified State Register.
According to the case files, the incident occurred on July 5 in the afternoon on Shevchenko Street in the village of Khorobriv, Sokal district.
Two boys under the age of 14, together with a minor friend, were drinking cognac near the local village council. The parents were brought to administrative responsibility for improper upbringing of their children. Parents Vasily K., Maria T. and Tatiana S. did not attend the court hearing, but pleaded guilty to the violation.
Judge Tetiana Strus issued a verbal warning to the two mothers of the young boys, and fined the father of the minor UAH 850. All offenders will also pay a court fee of UAH 606.
Children under the age of 14 are considered minors. Minors are children between the ages of 14 and 18. According to Article 1179 of the Civil Code of Ukraine, a minor is liable for the damage caused by him or her on a general basis.
If the minor does not have enough property to compensate for the damage caused by him or her, the parents or guardians shall compensate.
