It has been preliminarily established that a conflict arose between the brothers, during which the detainee kicked his relative’s chest, causing him fatal injuries.
The investigative team, criminal police operatives, forensic experts and other officers of the Chervonohrad District Police Department were working at the crime scene.
According to law enforcement officers, on February 26, around 1 am, in an apartment on Hetman Mazepa Street in Chervonohrad, a conflict arose between a 35-year-old and a 16-year-old brother, during which the older one kicked the younger one in the chest. The minor died at the scene from his injuries.
Law enforcement officers detained the offender in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural control of the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office, served him a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspect.
