In the Lviv region, the patrol police uncovered a hit-and-run case involving a driver attempting to avoid responsibility. The incident occurred on Paporotna Street, where a car crashed into a private property fence and fled the scene.
The caller provided the vehicle’s license plate number. Officers inspected the surrounding area and found a damaged Subaru TriBeCa with the identified plate number. The 53-year-old driver admitted to the accident and stated that he consumed alcohol after the crash.
A breathalyzer test using the “Drager” device indicated an alcohol level beyond the measurable range, displaying three upward arrows. It was revealed that the driver had previously been stripped of his driving license.
The driver was issued a citation for operating a vehicle without a license and three protocols:
- For causing the accident.
- For fleeing the scene.
- For consuming alcohol before undergoing the examination.
The last protocol carries a penalty of a 34,000 UAH fine or administrative arrest for up to 15 days, along with a three-year extension of the driving ban.
