The traffic accident happened on September 13, around 5:00 p.m., on the Lviv – Sambir – Uzhhorod highway in the village of Gradivka, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Audi A4 car, a 21-year-old resident of Sambir district, while making a left turn, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Peugeot 3008 car driven by a 40-year-old resident of one of the villages of Lviv district.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of both cars, as well as two passengers of the “Audi”, residents of the Sambir region, aged 19 and 22, received bodily injuries of varying severity. All were given medical care.
As a matter of fact, the law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
