Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the chief inspector of one of the departments of emergency prevention and civil protection in the Lviv City Territorial Community of the State Emergency Service in the Lviv Region was detained and informed of the suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect demanded an illegal benefit from the representative of the business entity for not conducting fire safety inspections at retail outlets belonging to the enterprise.
The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine when receiving 1,200 US dollars.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainee, and removed him from his post.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out based on the materials of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
