Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv sent an indictment to the court against a 25-year-old resident of Kyiv Oblast on charges of rape, sexual violence, robbery and theft (Part 1 of Article 152, Part 2 of Article 152, Part 2 of Article 153, Part 4 of Article 187, Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in June of this year, while staying in the victim’s apartment in the center of Lviv, the man committed violent acts of a sexual nature and, ignoring the request to stop the illegal actions, forced her to have sexual intercourse. After that, threatening the latter with a knife, he found out the password to her phone and Privat24 online banking, and transferred the money to his bank card. The accused also stole personal belongings and cash from the victim.
Until the court pronounces the sentence, the person involved will be in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
