A driver deprived of his driving license caused an accident and fled the scene: patrol policemen quickly found him
The other day, at about 3 pm, the crews received a report of an accident on Kotlyarevskoho Street. The driver of a Mazda car failed to maintain a safe interval while overtaking and collided with a tram and drove off without stopping.
The patrol policemen sent the description to all crews. Using the city’s security cameras, they managed to establish the last location of the vehicle.
The driver was stopped on Chervona Kalynya Avenue. The 44-year-old driver explained that he did not stop because he did not consider the damage to the vehicle to be significant and wanted to contact the driver himself to compensate for the damage.
As it turned out, the driver was deprived of the right to drive. Patrol policemen drew up three reports against him: under Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that led to an accident), Art. 122-4 (Leaving the scene of an accident) and Part 5 of Art. 126 (Driving a vehicle by a person who is not entitled to drive such a vehicle repeatedly within a year) of the CAO.
