The traffic accident happened on June 19, around 10:00 a.m., on Polubotka Street in Mostysk.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Touran, a 31-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv region, ran over two local residents – a 61-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrians were injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
