Driver Caused an Accident and Continued to Consume Alcohol at the Scene
Recently, we received a report of an accident on George Washington Street. The driver of a Volkswagen Golf lost control and collided with a parked vehicle of the same brand.
Signs of Intoxication and Refusal to Test
While communicating with the 53-year-old perpetrator of the accident, the patrol officers detected signs of alcohol intoxication. The driver refused to undergo a test, after which he took out a bottle of alcohol and began drinking.
Violations and Responsibility
The inspectors issued a fine to the driver for lack of necessary documents and composed:
- a protocol under Article 124 (Violation of Traffic Rules that Led to an Accident) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
- a protocol under Part 4 of Article 130 (Consumption of Alcohol by a Driver After an Accident Involving Them) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
We remind you that after an accident, a driver is not allowed to consume alcohol until all necessary tests are conducted, as there is liability for this!
