The police of the Lviv region once again urges pedestrians to strictly follow the traffic rules, to be attentive and careful, to cross the road only at crosswalks and on a green light, and to use reflective elements in the dark. Take care of life and health!
So, on November 29 at 5:40 p.m. on Lvivska Street in the city of Rava-Ruska, Lviv District, the driver of a BMW car, a 26-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, hit a pedestrian, an 86-year-old local resident. As a result of the road accident, the elderly woman received bodily injuries, from which she died on the way to the medical institution.
Another traffic accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Kovyari, Lviv district. As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf car, a 37-year-old resident of Lviv, hit a 51-year-old resident of Lviv. The man died at the scene from injuries received as a result of the accident.
Based on these facts, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
