Sale of weapons, ammunition and explosives – two Lviv residents to be tried
Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv completed a pre-trial investigation and sent to court an indictment against a 47-year-old and a 38-year-old Lviv residents on the fact of purchasing, storing and selling firearms, ammunition and explosives without a permit provided by law (Part 1 of Article 263, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in Lviv, the defendants illegally purchased, stored in their own homes and then sold ammunition, firearms and explosive charges.
It was documented that one of the defendants sold 137 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, a RGO defensive fragmentation hand grenade case, a GHO-1 offensive fragmentation hand grenade case, an AF-11 fuse, and a UZRGM remote fuse to a local resident for UAH 48,000,
They also purchased, stored and sold ammunition for rifled firearms, a Mosin rifle butt and a Mosin rifle for a monetary reward, by prior conspiracy.
The other bought two magazines for an AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle and 163 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, for which he received almost UAH 19 thousand. After that, the “buyer” went and voluntarily handed over the weapons to the police. He also said who exactly sold it to him.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Lviv Region Main Department of the National Police.
Note: In accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
