The Ministry of Infrastructure simplifies the rules for issuing permits for international road transport

In view of the closure of transit through the territory of Belarus and Russia, as well as the increase in the number of freight traffic by road, from April 4, 2022 removed or adjusted a number of restrictions, including:

  • the validity of the electronic application for permits has been extended from 7 to 10 days;
  • increased to 5 permits of all types of the Republic of Poland for one vehicle from April to May;
  • increased to 2 permits of all types of the Czech Republic for one month for a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10 tons;
  • prior to the decision of Romania on transit through its territory without permits, it was decided to issue BSEC permits to those road carriers that perform transportation to Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan on vehicles of environmental standard Euro-3 and above;
  • restrictions on travel through the territory of Serbia have been lifted (vehicles weighing less than 10 tons are allowed to travel).

In addition, since the beginning of the war, the Ministry of Infrastructure has been conducting systematic negotiations with partner countries to abolish the martial law licensing system.

As of April 4, we managed to agree on the revocation of bilateral and transit permits for transportation through the territory of seven European Union countries, including Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, as well as Georgia and Turkey. Slovakia also agreed to transit without permits.

A mechanism for unauthorized passage of all humanitarian goods with Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania has also been established.
