Among the speakers of the event are representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture, local administration, professional education institutions and business.
A press tour about the results and achievements of the vocational education reform “New opportunities of the Ukrainian vocational education and training” started in Lviv. The press tour will last on April 6 and 7, 2023, and will involve familiarizing journalists with the key challenges and victories of the vocational education reform, changes that have taken place in institutions, and practices of cooperation with business.
“We want everyone who wants to learn a new profession or change their field of work to be able to do it effectively, efficiently, and without even leaving home. That is why one of the key goals is the optimization and digitization of all educational and organizational processes of professional education. This will make it inclusive, flexible and as accessible as possible for both schoolchildren and adults, and will also help to quickly respond to any challenges of the labor market that will await us after reconstruction,” said Deputy Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Zavhorodniy.
During the first day of the press conference, media representatives learned how the reform of professional education began, what are its key goals, as well as the prospects and potential of professional education in the future reconstruction of Ukraine. The participants visited the Lviv Vocational College of Hotel, Tourism and Restaurant Service and were able to see first-hand how professional technology works and the training and practice of students.
“The reform of the Vocational Education and Training Institute is being successfully implemented – the educational institutions of the Lviv Oblast feel it. In many institutions of professional education, supervisory boards have been established, which include the main stakeholders of the field, representatives of enterprises and businesses. About 40 educational and practical centers with modern equipment have also been created here, educational academies and competitions of professional skills are regularly held to exchange experience and improve qualifications. “Entrepreneurship camps for students of vocational education institutions were launched last year,” said Oleg Paska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The second half of the day was devoted to the journalists’ excursion to the Higher Vocational School No. 29 of the city of Lviv, where it was possible to inspect modern STEM laboratories, talk with teachers and students, and learn how the reform directly affects the participants of the educational process and the work of the institution.
We will remind that 270 participants started the competition in the competition of professional skills among professional education institutions.
