This is necessary in order to measure the actual consumption of electricity in each area.
Starting tomorrow, February 8, consumption limits will be changed in Ukraine, Ukrenergo reported. This means that there will be no restrictions on the supply of electricity in each region on one of the days for two weeks. As for other days, there may be changes in the usual shutdown schedules.
How will it be done?
Consumption restrictions will be completely removed in each region for one day. Since there is a power shortage in the power system caused by the Russian attacks, at the same time in areas where measurements are not taken on a specific day, consumption limits may be slightly reduced.
Consumers can get more specific information from Oblenergo in their region. But energy companies will do everything possible so that consumers do not feel additional discomfort due to measurements.
Why do you need measurements?
Thanks to this, we will be able to see how consumers behave when they have constant access to electricity. Such a study, which is called mode measurement, allows you to determine how much each area is currently consuming under the condition of normal operation of the power system. Such measurements will make it possible to take into account the relocation of enterprises, population migration, actual changes in the general level and structure of consumption when setting limits.
What will be affected by the measurement results?
The obtained results, which will take into account changes in the number of the population and the location of enterprises, will allow us to adjust the volume of limits for each region and ensure a more even distribution of the available capacity in the system across regions.
In the absence of massive attacks on energy infrastructure, such an approximate schedule of regime measurements will start tomorrow in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Mykolaiv regions. In the Lviv region, as well as in Odesa – February 20.
In the case of a repetition of massive missile attacks on the energy infrastructure by Russia and, as a result, a significant shortage of available power in the energy system of Ukraine, the regime measurements will be postponed.
