On 22 August, at 23:36, a fire was reported in a metal drying room on the territory of an agricultural enterprise in Zolochiv district.
Fire and rescue units were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was coming out of the dryer and a fire was visible in the middle of the dryer. Due to the heavy smoke, the firefighters had to work in special respiratory and eye protection devices.
At 00:34, the firefighters contained the fire and eliminated it at 01:43. The fire destroyed several tonnes of sunflower seeds and damaged the drying room and the solid fuel boiler.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of firefighters, the fire was prevented from spreading and the drying building and grain storage facility were saved from destruction.
A total of 35 rescuers and 6 units of specialised equipment were engaged in the firefighting operations.
Experts are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
