The season is open: in the Lviv region, bears from the Domazhyr shelter are ready to welcome visitors
You can watch the clubfoot from Thursday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, although only by appointment.
“Bear Shelter in Yavoriv Region is one of the favorite places for family vacations in the region. Observing bears distracts from the emotions and calms the nervous system, and the difficult life stories of animals, which are now in a comfortable environment, allow you to believe in the best, “- says the head of tourism and resorts of Lviv OVA Natalia Tabaka.
The staff of the rehabilitation center assures that each bear has its own unique character, just like humans. Some of them never stop playing or swimming in the pool, while others like to relax and take a nap most of the day.
There are 34 bears on the territory of the shelter, among them there are also temporarily resettled.
Tyson Bear, for example, is a permanent resident. For sixteen long years, the clubfoot suffered in a dilapidated cage on the territory of a remote hunting station in western Ukraine. Tyson was brutally taken from his mother by bears and illegally used to harass dogs. Since 2017, he has been at the Domazhyr Bear Shelter, where he has slowly learned to trust people. He likes to explore the space in his pond, eat nuts, pears and apples.
Tyson is confident, balanced, and has a girlfriend, Mashutka the bear, who has also been bullied by dogs at a hunting station for 12 years. 5 years ago Mashutka’s life changed forever. She is very active and likes to dig the ground in the aviary shared with Tyson.
The shelter for the rescued brown bears is located only in
15 km from Lviv. The staff of the rehabilitation center invites guests, but due to the situation in the country, they work only by appointment and with a limited number of visitors on site.

We will add that the cafe “Honey and Berry” works in the fast food mode on the territory.
