“Bus station No. 5 in Lviv is located at 214 Zelena Street. More than 60 buses run from there every day in the Bibrske and Khodoriv directions. The flow of passengers is considerable, but the territory of the bus station needs to be reconstructed for their comfortable stay and waiting for public transport,” the statement said.
To solve this problem, the Road Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration together with the Sykhiv City Administration initiated a meeting with the participation of carriers who, according to their permits, have a designated final stop at Bus Station No. 5.
During the meeting, they discussed the issue of creating comfortable conditions for passengers. It is about arranging bus stops, including taking into account the needs of people with limited mobility and people with disabilities, in accordance with state building codes.
“Until 2018, all bus stations were subject to certification, which would confirm that the quality of services provided to passengers and carriers was appropriate. However, Order No. 700 “On Approval of the Procedure for Regulating the Activities of Bus Stations”, which regulated their activities, was cancelled. This had a negative impact on the functioning of bus station No. 5. Our most important task is to do everything possible to ensure that absolutely all categories of the population have equal transportation conditions,” said Orest Shulikovsky, director of the Road Department.
In the future, they plan to hold several more meetings with the owners of the bus station and agree on a detailed work plan.
