On 21 September, at 01:11, the Rescue Service 101 received a report of a fire in a two-storey apartment building in Zhydachiv on Stefanyk Street.
When the rescuers arrived at the scene, two apartments and the roof of the building were on fire. The fire was spreading rapidly through combustible structures.
Due to the heavy smoke, firefighters had to work in special respiratory and eye protection devices.
Not all of the residents of the building were able to go outside on their own, so the rescuers brought 16 people, including three children, out of the smoke-filled rooms.
At 02:45, firefighters contained the fire and at 04:31 eliminated it over an area of 40 square metres.
As a result of the fire, 1 person suffered burns of the upper extremities and was hospitalised.
The fire was extinguished by 14 rescuers and 3 units of special equipment.
The cause of the fire is being established by law enforcement.
