Over the past day, rescuers of Lviv region made 12 visits to extinguish fires in open areas.
As a result of these fires, the fire destroyed more than 7,000 square metres of dry grass and shrubs and all living things in these areas.
Dry grass fires were recorded in Drohobych, Chervonohrad, Sambir and Lviv districts.
Both firefighting units and local fire brigades were involved in extinguishing these fires. A total of 47 firefighters and 18 pieces of equipment were engaged.
Rescuers in Lviv region once again remind that burning garbage, dry grass, shrubs and other vegetation is prohibited.
Fires in open areas are extremely harmful to the environment. They can also spread quickly, especially in dry, windy conditions. It can be very difficult to stop a fire that has gained momentum.
