They are rare animals and there are about 300 of them left:
Lviv region is home to the largest population of bison in Ukraine
According to the results of the latest census, the total number of the herd is 114. The greatness of these animals is impressive!
Increase in the number of deer, roe deer, wild boars and bison recorded in Lviv oblast
In general, the accounting work was carried out on the entire territory of hunting grounds of the region on the area of 1771.0 thousand hectares.
According to the results of the hunting fauna accounting, as of today, the following numbers have been recorded in the region: European deer – 2025 (1921); roe deer – 19199 (18450); wild boars – 3935 (3581); spotted deer – 53; elk – 145; Daniel deer (fallow deer) – 98.
Thus, the number of ungulates in the region increased by 1225 heads compared to the previous year and amounted to 25627 (24402).
But the number of hares slightly decreased from 46353 to 44884.
