Training Surgeons in Lviv Region Using French Methodology

Lviv Region Becomes a Hub for Combat Medic Training

In the Lviv region, six more combat and civilian surgeons have undergone training using the methodology developed by Francois Pons, a professor of surgery at the Waldegras Military School in France. This is the second group of specialists who have completed the course. All training is conducted at Danilo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University – LNMU.

Expanding Training Capabilities

An important innovation is that training is now conducted in two operating theaters of the university’s vivarium. Previously, there was only one operating theater, but thanks to the support of “HuSoMe,” “La Chaîne de l’Espoir,” and “SMART Medical Aid,” another one has been opened. Both operating theaters have been renovated and equipped with modern equipment.

The course program lasts for two days and includes both theoretical and practical parts. Participants practice key skills, including performing emergency surgeries and stopping massive bleeding.

Heartfelt thanks to our French and British partners and everyone who helped in the implementation of this important project. We strive to make the Lviv region a key center for combat medic training in Ukraine. We are working on it!
