It was attended by the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional Government Oleg Oleg Paska, Sokal Mayor Serhii Kasyan, head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports Lesya Kovalyshyn, heads of educational institutions of the Sokal Region.
All educators were dressed in blue and yellow T-shirts. They talked about problems and challenges of education, outlined plans for the new 2022-2023 academic year.
According to Oleh Paska, director of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Oblast, the education of the Sokal community among 73 communities of the Lviv region is among the top five. This is a high indicator, thanks to the leadership of the education department and teachers. This year, more than ever, we must educate children of patriotism, love for their country, and tell about Heroes of the past and present in history lessons.
“A difficult year is behind us – the war changed all ideas and plans. Educational institutions worked using remote technologies, but in May, most educational institutions switched to face-to-face education. I want to thank the directors and teaching staff of the Sokal community for good knowledge, for the winners of tournaments and Olympiads , for the excellent results of Sokal graduates on the National multi-subject test (20 students received the highest score – 200). In addition to education, educators unitedly accepted internally displaced persons, our Defenders, in their institutions. A difficult niche fell on your shoulders, but you coped with all the challenges, therefore, sincere thanks to educators for selfless work in the most difficult time for the country.
Today, we, the parents of students, preschoolers, the authorities – we all rely on your wisdom, professionalism and patience. “Safety above all else!” – these should not be empty words for everyone during the war. The new academic year that is starting will not be easy, preserving the life and health of all participants in the educational process is our primary task today! The city council, with the support of the deputy corps, adopted the Program of material support for educational institutions, 640,000 hryvnias were allocated for the arrangement of shelters in educational institutions. This money is not enough to carry out all the works, therefore, sincere thanks to the heads of educational institutions, teachers, parents of students, who worked together as much as possible to repair the shelters so that they would be safe for our children,” said Mayor Serhiy Kasyan.
