National Nature Park “Boikivshchyna” celebrates four years since its creation

The park was created to preserve the genetic, species and landscape diversity of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Four years have passed since the signing of the Decree of the President of Ukraine (No. 130/2019 of April 11, 2019) on the creation of the national nature park “Boikivshchyna”. Its area is 12,240 hectares, the park is a nature conservation, recreational, cultural and educational, research institution of national significance.

The park was created with the aim of preserving the genetic, species and landscape diversity of the Ukrainian Carpathians, other natural complexes and objects that have important nature conservation, scientific, aesthetic, recreational and health benefits.

The institution’s administration outlined the park’s achievements over the past year:

prepared and published 1 volume of “Chronicles of Nature”;
arranged and presented the historical and natural trail “Historical and natural secrets of the Babinets tract”;
the unique trail “How a forest is grown: from seeds to big trees” is gaining more and more popularity among visitors;
for the first time, scientists conducted a comprehensive ecological study within the limits of Mount Pikuy, and also discovered the highest location of the May lily of the valley, which is at an altitude of 1065 m above sea level;
eco-educators of the park conducted more than 150 activities aimed at forming the environmental awareness of the local population;
thanks to the joint actions of Park workers and IDPs, the “Victory Forest” is now growing in Mizhhorsky Forestry.
