It is already traditional in Lviv to organize Christmas Eve for people who do not have a home due to various life circumstances. In addition to the festive treat, there was a joint prayer and caroling.
The Christmas dinner was organized at the Center for Registration and Night Stay of the Homeless together with volunteers from the “Corporation of Good Deeds” Center. The festive table was set for 50 wards of the overnight stay department of the Registration Center.
As every year, there were traditional dishes: kutia, dumplings with mushroom gravy, herring, borscht, uzvar, fried fish, pampukhs, fruits, cookies and various sweets. Volunteers also distributed sweet treats to the guests.
The Christmas dinner began with a joint prayer, and at the end, Christmas carols sounded.
By the way, traditional Ukrainian Christmas Eves in Lviv were organized for forcibly displaced Ukrainians living in three modular towns, and for residents of the “Unbreakable Mothers” mother and child center. In addition to the traditional dinner, there were carols and a joint prayer for Ukraine.
