On the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ, the Social Security Administration and subordinate institutions prepared many events. These are workshops for creating traditional Easter cakes and eggs; production of greeting cards using the irisfolding technique and decorative paper Easter eggs; baking and decorating strips. Everyone will be involved in the festive master classes: children, young people, adults, and elderly men and women.
Visitors to the Lviv City Center of Social Services will immerse themselves in the art of creating traditional Easter eggs.
“Participants of the workshop will learn what pattern and colors are characteristic of Easter eggs from different regions of Ukraine. They learn about various painting techniques – the technique of painting eggs with the use of a pen and wax has become widespread in the Hutsul region, and we will use it. However, there are others – in the south of Podillia and in Bukovina, they use the technique of “liquefied” drawing: this is when drops of wax are applied to the egg. “Scraping” and “painting” techniques are common in Carpathians and Volyn, and the names of Easter eggs – Easter “paintings” and “halunky” – come from this, the center said.
Both children and adults will participate in the master class. These are visitors to institutions in difficult life circumstances and internally displaced Ukrainians. And the master class for them will be held by the craftswoman Olga Darmogray.
Interesting events for the Easter holidays will also be held at the Center for Social Support of Orphans and Children Deprived of Parental Care and Internally Displaced Persons.
Among them is a family master class on painting large Easter eggs. It will take place in two stages. First of all, large and voluminous Easter eggs will be made using the papier-mâché technique. Each family that wishes to participate in the workshop will receive a separate testicle. Parents and children will paint it together in their own way. And already finished works will be exhibited in the hall of the institution.
In addition, there will be a master class “Easter card”. Workshop participants will make Easter greeting cards using the irisfolding technique. Later, the children will visit the places of residence of the displaced people and hand these postcards to the elderly.
There will be master classes on piesan painting and decorating Easter baskets in the modular town in Sikhiv, as well as in the shelters in Velikie Hrybovychy and on Ternopilska Street.
In the Lviv center for providing services to combatants, children of military personnel will gather for a master class to paint Easter eggs. Later, specialists of the institution will hand them over to our soldiers at the front.
Many events before Easter will take place in the “Zherelo” center. A Liturgy will be held in the chapel of the center for youth and children. Young people will bake Paskas and draw Easter eggs, make Easter cards. Children with disabilities will make Easter decorations, appliqués from natural materials, and decorate paper Easter eggs.
Every year, the Lviv City Territorial Center of Social Services organizes themed Easter events for elderly men and women. This year, the “Writing” master class will also be held. Also, the day leisure center at the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos will hold the event “Haivka na Lychakov”.
