Meeting in the Drohobych City Council with Families of Heroes
Recently, a regular meeting was held in the Drohobych City Council with the families of defenders who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine. These meetings, which take place regularly, are part of ongoing support and engagement with the families of the fallen and are organized at the initiative of the city’s mayor Taras Kuchma and representatives of the NGO “VSV ATO Drohobychchyna”.
Discussion of Cemetery Improvement and Safety Issues
One of the key points on the agenda was the improvement of conditions at the city cemeteries where the Heroes are buried. In particular, plans were revealed for the installation of additional video surveillance systems and the modernization of lighting. The enhancement of the drainage system was also discussed to prevent flooding issues.
Initiatives Regarding Monuments
Representatives of the families of the fallen initiated the creation of uniform monuments in the form of Cossack crosses at the cemeteries, which will be another step towards dignified commemoration of the defenders. A working group headed by Vasyl Kachmar, the deputy for communal issues, has been created to coordinate these projects.
According to Mayor Taras Kuchma, this helps to preserve the memory of the Heroes and serves as support for the families of the fallen servicemen.
