The Lviv City Council continues to assist residents who lost their homes due to Russian aggression. The Executive Committee has approved the third list of residents eligible for financial compensation to purchase new housing. This includes three apartments destroyed during the September 4 attack on Brativ Mikhnovskykh Street.
Current Status:
- Compensation has been approved for the owners and co-owners of 18 apartments that were completely destroyed.
- The new list includes five individuals from three apartments, with a total payout of 5.926 million UAH.
Circumstances of Destruction
The buildings at Brativ Mikhnovskykh Street 37, 38, and 40a were deemed irreparable following the attack. In total, 20 apartments were lost, leaving all residents without homes.
How Compensation is Calculated
The compensation amount is determined by multiplying the area of the destroyed apartment by the state-determined price per square meter with a coefficient of 3.
Restoration Efforts and Additional Support
- The September 4 attack damaged 189 buildings in Lviv. Restoration work is ongoing, funded by the city budget and charitable donations.
- Residents of 63 damaged apartments are receiving compensation for temporary housing rentals.
According to Vladyslav Ivanov, head of the Housing Management Department, the financial aid will be disbursed to the affected residents by the end of the year.
Compensation Program
This program, approved by the Lviv City Council, was developed after numerous consultations with the victims. It provides financial support for acquiring new housing to replace property destroyed by Russian aggression.
