The largest modular town for immigrants is being built in Lviv

In Lviv, work continues on the arrangement of a new – fourth – modular town for Ukrainians who found refuge in our city, fleeing the war. Yes, according to the acting Taras Kubai, director of the city planning department, the new temporary housing is adapted for living in the winter period. It is assumed that 1100 people will live there.

The head of the urban planning department noted that approximately 30-40% of the modules have already arrived in Lviv as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine and the Polish government. They are already installed.

“The fourth modular town in Lviv is being equipped for the winter period and is more comfortable than the three that were built earlier. In it, residents will no longer have to cross the street to get to the bathrooms or the kitchen. Each house will have a radiator, in addition, corridors and bathrooms will be equipped with radiators. The company that will serve the town will provide generators so that, in the event of a power outage, there is a sufficient amount of heat for the residents to live comfortably,” said Taras Kubai.

Residents from the other three towns will be resettled here.

“We are planning and doing everything that depends on us to open this town for settlement by the new year. We must understand that this object is logistically complex – in fact, modules are delivered here from Poland around the clock. It doesn’t always work out quickly, because they cross the border. In addition, we must take into account the issue of loading and unloading modules. Everything that depends on the services of the city of Lviv, we do as quickly as possible,” the official added.

Also, in the fourth modular town, as in the previous ones, the city will arrange landscaping. So, as a matter of priority, they plan to ensure convenient access of residents to housing, and therefore to install street furniture and landscape the territory already in the spring.
