The infrastructure of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Park has changed dramatically in recent years. Every summer season, the park becomes more and more popular among the townspeople and saves them from the heat, as they can relax, fish and hide in the shade of the trees on the spacious territory.
The territory of the park and the lake itself were cleaned up by municipal workers. So today the park boldly claims to be a green oasis and a recreational highlight of the city.
On the eve of the summer season, the park was improved: the grass was mown and rubbish removed. According to Volodymyr Suda, the head of SMU, since there are gazebos in the park, they can be rented for a day. In addition, last year, catamarans operated in the park. This year, they are also ready to resume their work – but there is a problem – the SMU is looking for a lifeguard for the summer period to ensure the safety of both adults and children.
At the same time, the park is constantly working on the restoration of hiking trails around the lake.
We would like to add that qualitative changes in Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park by the Municipal Utility Company and the Greenery Department started back in 2020. The utilities first cleared the park of shrubs and self-seeding. Then, they cleaned the lake bowl and filled it with water. The territory was also landscaped. New trees, such as willows and pines, were planted around the lake and footpaths.
