According to the monitoring results, 544 tests for coronavirus were conducted in the Lviv region from August 8 to 14, of which 306 were positive. There are 138 patients in hospital beds.
Three people died – all of them had serious concomitant diseases. Two patients are elderly, one patient is 59 years old.
The Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health (Center) informs about this.
During the entire period of the pandemic:
- Confirmed cases of the disease: 308,377
- Fatalities: 6,707
- Recovered: 300,969
We will remind, as Nataliya Ivanchenko, head of the Center, said during the briefing on August 12, a new wave of coronavirus cases has begun in Lviv Oblast.
Vaccination against Covid-19:
- Vaccination guarantees the most reliable protection against the disease or its severe course. For effective protection, people should receive two vaccinations and half a year after the second vaccination, the first booster dose should be administered.
The second booster can be given no earlier than four months after the first booster dose. Currently, the second booster is recommended for people:
- older than 60 years;
- who have serious chronic diseases;
- who have various congenital or acquired immunodeficiency conditions.
We remind you that in order to get vaccinated, you should contact your family doctor for a referral. Vaccination can be done in the vaccination offices of health care institutions. Centers for mass vaccination of the population are not functioning now.
