On Wednesday, June 28, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Hryhoriy-Hayk Stepaniuk, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (7/13 Virmenska St.), and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero
Hryhoriy-Haik Stepaniuk (October 5, 1991-June 21, 2023)
Born in the city of Tiraspol (Republic of Moldova). From an early age, he left Moldova due to the beginning of the Transnistrian conflict.
He studied at the secondary comprehensive school of the village of Koshelyvka, Khmelnytskyi region, later entered the Khmelnytskyi specialized boarding lyceum of advanced training in the field of science (today – the Khmelnytskyi Lyceum II-III degrees of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council), which he graduated with honors.
After completing his studies, he entered the Faculty of Law of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where he obtained the educational qualification “Master of Law”.
For 8 years he lived and worked in Kazakhstan in management positions. He was fond of playing chess, archery, volleyball, football and athletics. He liked to travel, was interested in history, archeology and geography, as well as finance and economics. Tried to master programming languages. He had a great thirst for knowledge and was interested in a wide variety of topics, constantly engaged in self-development and self-improvement. He was successful in all his endeavors.
In June 2022, he returned to Ukraine and joined the ranks of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction. During his military service, he began to study explosives, aerial reconnaissance and medicine.
The Hero is survived by his wife, grandmother, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncle, nieces, godmother and extended family.
