Criminal police operatives jointly with investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, found that a 42-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages was selling “cannabis”, “amphetamine” and drug-containing Subutex pills.
Law enforcement officers documented several facts of the offender’s sale of prohibited substances to drug addicts in Stryi district and on March 12 detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in the village of Slavsko after another sale of cannabis to one of his “clients”.
During the authorized search, the police found and seized from the detainee: drug-containing pills, rolls with substances similar to the drug “cannabis” and psychotropic drug “amphetamine”, as well as other material evidence of involvement in illegal activities.
All the seized items were sent for examination to the Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Lviv region.
Investigators of the territorial police unit served the offender a notice of suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Part 1, Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty facing the suspect is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint.
